NEWS: JOB VACANCIES AT DEAFWAY

At Deafway we provide residential and support services to Deaf people with a range of additional needs. At the heart of all of our work is an understanding of and respect for BSL (British Sign Language) and Deaf culture. We are looking for people with the right skills and attitude for a number of posts listed below. We will provide full training to successful candidates as part of their paid induction.

Team Leader
Providing day-to-day operational management to our teams of residential support workers in order to ensure we provide the best possible care and support to our residents. Working an Average of 37 ½ hours per week. Salary £20,412 – £22,386 plus sleep-in allowances (£34.27 for each sleep-in).

Support Worker (Waking Watch)
Working night shifts on a rota pattern over 7 days – an average of 23.33 hours per week over a six week rota. Salary £7.24 per hour plus ‘waking watch’ allowance (£19.31 allowance for each shift worked).

Support Worker (Primarily working in our challenging behaviour service)
Working an average of 31.5 hours per week on days, and 35 hours per week on nights. £7.24 – £8.56 per hour depending on experience and qualifications plus ‘waking watch’ enhancement (£22.61 for each night shift worked).

Support Worker (Bank Staff)
Working shifts on a Ad Hoc basis. £7.24 -£8.56 (Depending on experience and service worked in).
We also have an opening for a Weekend Cook (Saturday and Sundays 13:30-18:30) To provide high quality meals and be responsible for food preparation, presentation, service and staff supervision. £7.12 per hour.

For all of the above posts, we are looking for people (Deaf or hearing) who have a positive attitude to Deaf people, their culture and their language
