Residential Care Vacancies – SBH Support Worker

Support Worker (Full Time) – SBH

BSL video about Support Worker Job (SBH)

Stephen Bannister House in Preston offers intensive, residential support for Deaf adults with challenging needs.

At Deafway we provide residential and support services to Deaf people with a range of additional needs.  At the heart of all of our work is an understanding of and respect for BSL (British Sign Language) and Deaf culture.

(You will be given nationally recognised British Sign Language Level 1 training as part of your paid induction and Level 2 training, during working hours, approximately 6 months later)

Working with residents on a 1-1 basis you will support them in many aspects of their life, from daily living skills to fulfilling life long dreams.

You will work on average 31.5 hours per week on days.  We offer £8.37 – £9.30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

We are looking for people with the right skills and attitude and, whilst experience of working in a care setting and the experience of using BSL are desirable, they are not essential as we will provide full training in both.

(CVs WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED)
