Deafway have won a small amount of funding from United Utilities, the water company, from their Lancashire Community Fund. The money is for drop in sessions, over the next two years, where Deaf people can access support from qualified interpreters. The sessions will be based in Preston, at Deafway or Lancaster Deaf Centre. The service open to anybody, Deaf people with any sort of [communication] issue, maybe you don’t understand a letter or email, maybe you want a phone call making then come along either to Deafway or Lancaster Deaf Club, two hours, every week [alternate weeks].
